Chuk Chat Privacy and Security

Simple summary

Your chat content is encrypted on your device before storage. Chuk Chat is designed to collect as little personal data as possible.

What is encrypted

  • Chat messages and conversation history
  • Chat titles and conversation metadata

What is not encrypted

  • Email address
  • Username/display name

These are needed for account login and communication.

Data practices

  • No selling of user data
  • No ad-tracking profile system
  • Token usage metadata is stored for billing (not your message text)

Security basics

  • AES-256-GCM encryption for chat data
  • HTTPS/TLS for data in transit
  • Certificate pinning on supported native platforms
  • Account deletion available from settings

Provider-level privacy controls

  • OpenRouter is used for model routing
  • ZDR provider filtering is used to keep non-compliant providers out of the available routing set
  • Groq is used for speech-to-text transcription

Important account warning

If you forget your password, encrypted chats cannot be recovered. Support cannot recover them.
